re: Sharepoint 2007 (WSS or MOSS)

I'm not an admin. I have full access. Can a user with full access (site owner) or a user with contribute view the 'properties' of a top level or CHILD site? Specifically... I want to know when the site was created and by which user.

thanks in advance for any help

Using SharePoint designer open the site and right click on the default.aspx. Choose properties and then the summary tab. It will show the created date for that page. Should give you the information you want.

When frustrated remember, in the computer world there is almost always a backdoor.

Thanks for your answer! Very helpful. I do happen to use Designer but I know some students that will ask this Q will not. I was hoping there was an easy way right through the SharePoint site itself. If anyone knows of that please let me know (otherwise... the page properties in Designer will have to do) THX again !!
