How can I change the Host ID on Solaris 9

Hi there.

I need to figure out a way to change the hostid on a Sun Workstation running Solaris 9. Are ideas?

Found the hid2 executable worked fine on sol8 Sparc should bo OK on Sol9. You can test at immediately once you have downloaded it. If OK stick it in an rc script somewhere.

Not condoning piracy of course - purely for DR if required.

Hi JB,

I tried the program on Solaris 9 and it worked.

all I did was :
./hid2_64 0x00000000

and it changed the hostid to 00000000

This will be very usefull to keep working while I wait for the new license key to be sent to me.
