How can I change default Windows colors in an App?

I would like to change the foreground/background of an edit box (not the component edit box - that's easy) created by the system (actually it's in a treevies component). The colors are determined by the "Selected Items" in the Display segment of the Control Panel.

Is there any way to change these settings, on a temporary basis, from within Builder?
