I am supporting an app where a section contains a series of check boxes...there are a series of 9 labels (1 to a row). After the label, there are 3 check boxes, the user can select more than one...How can I make it so they can select only one. Note...the code is object oriented and its very cumbersome. I need an easy way!!!!

Try putting the 3 check boxes in a frame.

I tried to have patience but it took to long! :) -DW

Use an option group a(which I think is what jadams0173 really meant) and then either use radio buttons, as rjoubert suggested, or check boxes.

Hi,

There's DIFFERENCE between the function of a Checkbox and the function of an Option Button.

The distinction is important. Why muddy the waters for the users, by making no distinction?

Are you going to allow MULTIPLE CHOICE OPTION BUTTONS, while forcing MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE CHECKBOXES??? How confusing would THAT be?

I think that its a big design mistake!

I'm confused by your post, Skip:

TrailblazerLS asked "How can I make it so they can select only one?" In an Option Group, option buttons and check boxes both behave in this manner.

Yea, and I can drive a screw with a butterknife, but I would not recommend that as SOP.
