Hi,

I have configured Apache 1.3.20 for SSL on Windows NT.
Now when I say: am presented
with a certificate
My Application Server is IBM Websphere which will be used
to test my servlets.

I will be sending data from one servlet over https to the
receiving servlet.

How will I know that SSL is working? Is it possible for
me to see the encrypted data is any way?
Perhaps on my console..just to make sure that SSL is working
fine...

I configured Tomcat as an HTTPS server, tested both my servlets on this, and viewing the encrypted data by modifying
Tomcat files.

Please help.

regards

Hi,

The way I would do it to use a network analysis tool to 'sniff' the raw network packets and examine those. These are tools that put the network adapter into 'promiscous' mode and thereby capture all the packets on the wire whether destinted for that adapter or not.

On linux you could use tcpdump for free. On M$, the best known one is NAI's sniffer pro. The problem is that is very expensive . See -->
Hope this helps

It doesn't look like you are running properly. You have https and 443 in your url. In my experience, there is something wrong when you do that. You browser should be the best indicator that SSL is active with the little lock in the corner of the screen.
