Hi,

Does anyone know of a way within the report designer to avoid a page break in the middle of a detail line? I have reports with detail fields that use the stretch with overflow option, but a branch to a new page frequently occurs in the middle of these fields.

I've seen a few notes on VFP9. I'm still using VFP7.

Is there a way to know when the report is about to move into a summary band because it's nearing the space needed to complete the page?

Thanks in advance,

Ron

With the report form open. Double Mouse click on the Detail band.

Tab 2 "Band"
Option "Start Detail set on new page when less then:"
Set it to what you need.

Thanks Dave, but that option doesn't seem to be available in VFP7. There is a detail band properties that offers the following options:

1. A height setting
2. a "Constant band height" checkbox
3. an "On Entry" run expression
4. and an "On Exit" run expression

There are no tabs for other options.

Seems like there might be something that can be done with these options, but I haven't figured it out.

In VFP 8 and earlier, the item in question is available for groups, but not for individual records. If you want to apply to individual records, add a group based on RECNO() and set it there.
