We are advertising construction jobs to contractors and we advertise jobs 4 weeks and 3 weeks before the letting. previously we posted a pdf file to inform the contractors wether it is a 4 week or 3 week ad. Since we have all this information in our database we decide to stop posting a pdf prepared manually and develop a systme to pull al the data from our database. This systme did not make every contractors happy because it does not tell them wehter it is a 3 week or a 4 week ad and we donot have this information in our database. my question is will it possible to add the date posted by getting that from the system or can I add this information to my dataset and get the date from there? can someone help

I am not sure what you mean by 3 and 4 week ad. If you have a date in your db, you can use it to calculate other dates if need be. You should post some sample data and what you want the output to look like.

jbenson001 thank you for response.
Here is what it looks like in a paper

S.P. District letdate dateposted ad
1501-12 2 02-27-09 02-02-09 4 week
4508-25 3 02-27-09 02-09-09 3 week

I have the sp, ditrict and letdate information in the database but dateposted and ad are the two fields that I am hoping to get from the system date and show it in gridview. 4508-25 there will not be any information in database until 02-09-09.

I don't understand how you expect to get dateposted and ad from a system date. These columns should be in the table. At the very least, dateposted needs to be there. From there you can calculate ad by using letdate and dateposted.

That is what I told to the person who requested this but I thought I shoudl ask the experts and see what they have to say. We do not have information for datposted or ad in our database. I will talk to the DBA if it is possible for us to track the dateposted or ad date. once again thank you for clarifying this for me and here is my star for you.
