Hi,

How do I disable onboard VGA on ASUS A7N266-VM Motherboard, so that I can use other PCI VGA card?
In the BIOS, the possible options for "Primary VGA BIOS" are "AGP VGA Card" and "Onbaord VGA"
I tried both the options. It doesn't help.
If the PCI card is put in the slot and the Monitor is connected to it, Monitor is not getting any signal from the PCI Card. Monitor shows completely blank.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thank you
Leena M

Why would you want to disable the on-board for a PCI card?

Check your motherboard handbook or look closely at the board for an ENABLE/DISABLE jumper for VGA or VIDEO. However, it might be that this mobo will only support either the on-board video or a card in the AGP slot...

Hi,

Answering maingeek's question. I am trying to install Sun Solaris 8 and configure graphics on this machine. I have spent long time trying to get the graphics working, including applying the patch '109401-13' from Sun, which is supposed to support the onboard nVIDIA nForce graphics, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
This is the reason why I am trying to put a Solaris supported PCI VGA card on this board.

GOAUZ, I looked into the User manual and the ASUS knowledge base. Nowhere it tells about how to add a PCI VGA card on this motherbaord. Also, none of the BIOS updates have any mention about this feature.

Thank you very much for the support.
