Just need a play by play to make a photo look like this.

Thanks

What effect are you looking at?

I am seeing the effect of a photographer, not software.

I asked the photographer he told me he touch it up in photoshop. Somthing to do with, copy the base image
then look in the channels, for a channel with alot of contrast then duplicate it
for my picture of all of our heros i chose green.
then go apply image, and select green copy, then mess around with the blending modes untill you ge something you like.
now copy the image and run a high pass, on something around the 30 range and then blend it with hard light. you might loose the eyes, so be prepared to mask off and erase.

But I have no idea what any of this means. Is there a tutorial for this process????

The tutorial is there since the photographer told you what he did. You simply need to look up the terms he used in the Photoshop manual.
