im writing a script in procomm plus 4.8
installed on windows xp pro system ( an old dell e machine)

i cant seem to get procomm to recognize files
with "\\" in their names

i need to be able to access files across the
network using the unc format:

for example, i try the isfile command with
the file
\\somecomputer\dir1\dir2\filename.txt

neither the isfile nor the findfirst commands
recognize the file

anyone else have this problem?
thanks...

I haven't had a chance to test this yet, but my vague recollection is that Procomm didn't support UNC shares. Can you map the share to a drive letter and use that instead?

thank you for responding , knob

i'm probably not the only one on this network that's going
to be using the script, and re-mapping other user's computers
(and supporting them) is something i dont want

its amazing that symantec would have omitted such an important
feature from their program.
this makes aspect much less than a "full-featured" language

i'll just look for another scripting language that
can get hooked up to qnx hosts.
