Hello CCNA Voice Enthusiast,

I am planning to build a CCNA Voice Home Laboratory, with
these router, and already have 2 pieces 4941G IP Phones,
however I read some articles it says to add the following.

1. VIC2-2FXO
2. VIC2-2FXS
3. AIM-CUE - is this necessary?
4. PVDM2-8 - is this necessary?
5. Does need more DRAM?

Any hardware that you may add for references and planning.
This CCNA voice lab is also for future use in CCNP Voice.

Thanks.

Note: My 2801 IOS is IPBASE is not voice bundled,so what I am doing is trying to convert it for IOS Voice Features.

Router info:

Cisco 2801 (revision 6.0) with 117760K/13312K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FCZ104213DH
2 FastEthernet interfaces
1 Virtual Private Network (VPN) Module
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity disabled.
191K bytes of NVRAM.
62720K bytes of ATA CompactFlash (Read/Write)
Configuration register is 0x2102

Think it will depend on the path you take for CCNA Voice. I took the CVoice exam, and was able to get through without the AIM-CUE, and the PVDM2. I used some 2611XM routers running CME, and a couple of mc3810 routers that had built in FXS ports.

Be careful buying an AIM-CUE, I bought one and the software on it was for CUCM not CME so It is effectively useless to me for CCNA Voice. I only keep it because I intend to do the CCNP-Voice soon!
