We have a Bes server at our office in Chicago and a new remote employee in London. If we get a bes license for this user will he be able to access our Bes server from his London vodaphone blackberry account. I'm assuming that our Bes server communicates with Blackberry the blackberry network and his phone communicates with the blackberry network and this is how the messages would go from our bes server to his phone.

Absolutely - Once a device is registered to a particular BES server, it can be used anywhere where there is a signal.

For example, we are based in the North East of England, and one of the Directors often travels to Dubai and can use his handheld there.

If your user is in london though he will still need to activate his hand held for use with your BES server, if it has not already been done.

This can be done wirelessly via "Enterprise Activation" or.....you could always get him to mail it to you, physically attach it to your network, activate it, then send it back...but that should not be necessary.

In terms of how the network works i'm not actually certain on that but I would also assume the same as you....IE > Handheld <> Blackberry Service Provider <> BES Server

Hope this helps.
