What is the best or easiest way to implement a excel to sql connection over the internet from my home to my office? Are any of these used for that purpose? VPN, RAC, Sharepoint, terminal services, or other? I expect only to pass a few kilobytes of data a day. Thanks in advance for any direction you can give me. I have at home xp professional, excel and at work I have sbs 2003 w/ Microsoft SQL.

Terminal services just gives you a session into the end point (server). So you'd have to have Excel there.

I can't comment on Sharepoint since we don't know what you're doing in Excel. I suspect it's not a solution.

VPN would likely be choice here. Properly configured, you're securely sending data back & forth.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

Whoops vpn failed upon implementation as it stated I need two network cards. My work will not let me change the hardware configuration. Do I have any options beside sharepoint since vpn won't work for me? Thanks. I could obdc from laptop to open excel program on server?
