Hello,

I'm trying to create a HoverButton in FrontPage.

I have done this before, successfully, and I can load that page successfully in FrontPage.

However, when I try to create another HoverButton (on that page, or another one) I have a problem.

When I go to preview the page, the button comes up only as a missing picture block. FrontPage warns me that I should try to save the page; but that does not fix the problem.

Any ideas? (-:

Thanks,
Brian

what exactly do you mean by a "hover button"? do you mean a rollover, that you you move the mouse over an image, a different one appears? if there's a blank image appearring when you hover over it, sounds like it's missing the second image. check that the image exists and that the preloading script is pointing to the correct location.

Thanks for the reply,

Yes, in Microsoft FrontPage they call rollover buttons "hoverbuttons," I don't know why.

Neither of the images appear.

Is there a way to make a rollover button in FrontPage without using the "hoverbutton"?

Thanks, (-:

FYI: The "hover button" component in FrontPage inserts a Java Applet on your page (NOT a typical rollover using 2 images and some javascript).

A couple of questions for you (to try to narrow down the problem):

1. Are you "previewing" your page on the "preview" tab within Frontpage, or are you previewing in an external browswer?
IF NOT...
Try previewing in an external browser, (IE, or NN) and see if there are any error messages in the status bar when the page loads. If you do see an error message, is it something like "Class not found" ?

2. Are you working within a website set up within FrontPage (either disk-based or web-based), or are you working on a lone page (not saved as part of a Frontpage website)?

Kim-

Thanks, but I solved the problem. I am just going to use the DHTML function in FrontPage to make simple rollover buttons! Thanks, (-:

Hello
I am having exactly same problem. It is some time since I created the site and I inserted some Frontpage Hover buttons - with no problems.
However I have just inserted a new one and I cannot see the button once page uploaded - button just greyed out.
Cannot for the life of me remember what I did previously.. maybe there is another component I need to upload.

Anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks

Front page sucks! If you want to make cool rollovers use adobe imageready. Do a search on google.com for a tut. If you've any questions I can help a little in my free time.
