hour field rounding, how to stop 1

I have a field on a form that contains hours. When I tab into the field I can enter 2.5, but when tabbing out it changes to 3. If I tab back into the field it shows 2.5. Also, when printed it prints the 3. How to not ROUND? At least get it to print the 2.5.

There is another field next to the hours that contains dollars and this field does not round. I checked properties for both and they looked the same.

Filemaker Pro version 5.0v3

In Layout mode -
Format->Number
and display number as decimal with 1 (or 2) decimal places. Cheers,

Thank you very much Paul that was a great help to me. I knew nothing about filemaker but I am fixing up some forms that are out of alignment. This was one I couldn't figure out.
