I am running POSE 3.5 with an OS 4.1.2 ROM image. I am using this to demo my app created with SatForms 4.1, which interacts with an Access 2000 database. When the PDA unit syncs with the database, it uploads a couple of tables from the portable, merges the data with the database, and then downloads about 13 tables back to the Palm unit.
When I do this with a physical unit, everything functions perfectly. However, when I do the sync with POSE, I keep getting timeouts. The POSE HotSync times out, and almost immediately, the desktop HotSync then displays an error saying that the connection was interrupted.
I have POSE set up to do a network HotSync using a modem connection. The Idle Timeout for the modem connection is set to "Never".
I have found a work-around. I can activate the Developer Backdoor to keep HotSync from timing out, but it needs to be done before each HotSync, makes the HotSync process slower, and just looks bad when you're giving a demo to a customer.
Has anybody else encountered this? Can you provide any suggestions? I appreciate any and all feedback.
