hotmail folders to windows text folders?

Hi,
I've used Hotmail for some years but now I use the BTYahoo mail services and I want to discontinue using Hotmail. Is there any way of transfering my hotmail folders(hence emails) into text files? so that I can get rid of the hotmail software?

What Hotmail software? Hotmail is a web based service. Do you mean to get rid of Outlook, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, or something else?

Sorry about the phraseology. What I want to do is save my old Hotmail emails into windows txt folders so that I do not have to use Hotmail to access them.

From Hotmail, you could forward them to your Yahoo account. If using OE's hotmail access you could move them to a local folder & manipulate the messages from there, but if you haven't used OE's hotmail feature in the past, you won't be able to do this. There aren't many other choices other than to view each message in your browser & then 'Save page As....'
