I'm working on something that has global hot keys, and was wondering if there was a good rule on setting defaults in the application so they don't conflict with anything else running on the system? Of course, the application will feature the ability to set these hot keys to something different, which will be on the user if it causes a problem. But I don't want to make default out-of-the-box settings that will cause problems if I can help it. So thoughts?

I ended up looking at that list and found three hot key combos that didn't seem to trigger in most all of the generic programs I have here, so it looks like it'll be fine. With the ability to configure them, the user can set the combos away from something that would conflict, so there shouldn't be any issues whatsoever. Thanks.
