Hi Teksters,

I have a customer who is migrating from an SX2K to a beautiful new 3300. They want to kick out their old voicemail system and use the embedded voicemail instead. No problem except that they are a hotel and want the guests to have mailboxes.
Am I right in saying they need the Embedded Voicemail PMS license? And that it uses TCP/IP and not a serial port? I guess after that you create guest mailboxes which are deleted once a new check in to that room is made.
Am I talking cr*p and is there anything else you think I should consider (seems too easy).

Thank you in advance.

Yes vm PMS license
No tcp/ip and/or rs232
Definitely no to mb being deleted
Mb is reset on new checking
Biggest issue will likely be if you have a mix of 3 or 4 or 5 digit extensions

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Thanks for responding kwbMitel, your advice is very much appreciated. All the mailboxes will be the same digit length so we should be good to go.

Happy days!

You need the PMS license if you want to use a PMS to control the 3300 ( i.e checking rooms in and out ).

The PMS integration can be either. If the PMS needs serial but is not close to where the 3300 will be, then you can use a dev link an ipocket which is a ethernet to RS232 converter. Note the 3300 works best with only certain PMS systems but if you had a SX2000 then most likely it will continue to work.

Mailboxes don't get deleted.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
