What is the cmd for clearing buffer/log of previous used cmd's access'd via the arrow up key?

There is a file where this is all stored.... something like .bash_history ? I think if you delete the file and restart your shell, you're all set... maybe. Never actually tried it. Let me know if that works.

Works great. I needed it for some times when I'm in as root (I have two others who also need to use root). Thanks A+ N+ Sec+ SME/Sec+
 
You can also just turn off history tracking temporarily using
[tt]set +o history[/tt]

and turn it back on with
[tt]set -o history[/tt]
