Statements in the Documentation say that you can Hot Desk with the UCA 5.1 client but I am unable figure out how to configure or do it. Can anybody point me in the right direction. I thought this was goign to be the ability for a Softphone to be used as a Hot Desk device. But the more that I look at the Mitel Docs the more I think that this feature refers to the ability to Hot Desk in/out of a physical desk phone.

From the 5.1 UCA Admin Guide:

Hot Desking: The Desktop Client now supports Hot Desking in and out of supported PBX
endpoints. This feature is available on MCD systems only.

Hot Desking Provides the ability to Hot Desk in and Hot Desk out of supported systems by a simple right-click operation. This feature is limited to users on MCD communications platform
only.

I have a 3300, My MBG is at version 7.1. I had existing Softphone users before I updated to 5.1 and they still work.

I found my answer on the internal product brief. Looks like this feature is for Hot Desking in/out of Desk phones.

HOTDESKING SUPPORT
UCA 5.1 is delivering support for a user to log-in and out from their MCD phone by using the UCA client. You no longer need to manually log yourself into your phone you can see UCA to perform this action for you.
The support for Hotdesking is only supported on MCD systems and it is not supported on 5000 CP systems.
To access the Hotdesking feature, simply click on the communications icon in the UCA client (blue icon with white phone) and then right click on the extension that you wish to hot desk in or out of. At this point, you enter the RDN of the phone you are trying to log into and your PIN and you will be logged into that device.
