Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has come across this issue before..

I have programmed a Hot Desk extension which I can log into on any phone with no problems. But the programmed keys I have configured do not seem to appear. I have programmed a CDE Speedcall on button's 2 - 8. When I press these buttons they do call the number configured - even though the label appears blank.

Notes:

- I have deleted and re-created the Hot Desk user
- The Hot Desk user is local to the controller
- I have tested hot desk user from another phone (remote and local)

Any help is appreciated!

Do you put some text in teh label section of the key?

As per usual , its better if you always start with System type and software version.

sounds like HTML apps upgrade problem to me

try a HTMLAPPUPGRADE command from maintenance commands

I had a similar issue with a 5330 , The only way I could fix it was to replace the phone . That particular handset wouldn't display keys on one system.
When connected to other systems no problems.
Nothing i did removed the HTML appupgrade from getting stuck on the display, buttons worked but screen was blank

This was in the Ver 6 release notes , I haven't had a chance to try it on that handset

MN00411866 - Getting Please wait while upgrades are being performed on the HTML Applications on this phone
REPORTED IN SW LOAD - 11.0.0.102
PLANNED SW LOAD - MCD6.0SP1
SYMPTOMS
ACD Hotdesk users and standard hotdesk users when logging in having message "Please wait while
upgrades are being performed" not allowing them to use keys such as headset to start receiving or making
calls.
Every login/logout is causing the phones to tftp the different language help files. help5340_en.spx being
an example.

WORKAROUND
- create a temporary folder on the switch /db/HtmlApps/backup
- move help*.spx from /db/HtmlApps/apps to /db/HtmlApps/backup (note: this still leaves the default
screen saver app which the phones will still attempt to tftp)
- if the switch is stable issue the HTMLAPPUPGRADE command from the maintenance window in ESM
- If this still does not help, then you can remove the rest of the .spx files (screensaver files) and issue the
HTMLAPPUPGRADE command. Bear in mind the devices will have no screensaver after performing this
action.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Billz66 - Thank you for the assistance.

When I deleted and re-created the hot desk user I had the same problem. Someone told me to rename the extension. My hot desk ext was 5055 - I renamed to 5*055. Created another 5055 hot desk extension, configured the keys, and the keys appeared?!

Good to have the above solution anyway!

Thanks again - great place for info.

I just tested this and it fixed my handset

I had to remove all spx files and do a HTMLAPPUPGRADE

Once that was done my display has returned and the phone is usable again

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

I have run into this and the fix was thus:
Log out the user
Unplug the phone
Wipe out the MAC address in the system
Connect phone
Register using ***extension
Log back in and see if it works now
