Hostname ping in Networker Server shows wrong IP

For some reasons, one of the Networker client gives me a different ip address when pinging the hostname from the Networker server. I checked the host and LMHOSTS file and did not see any entry. If I run nslookup of the host, it gives me the correct ip address. I also issued the command "ipconfig /flushdns" and this did not help either. If I ping this host from a different system, it gives me the correct ip address. So this tells me that there's something in the Networker server that I need to check. Please advise. I'm not able to add a client since it conflicts with the ip address. Thanks.

NW does not really resolve the IP address - it just uses the OS. The only times, NW 'controls' could use other names are:
- you start the program connecting to another name (for example by running "nsrexecd -s server" and/or
- If you are using the client's "server network interface" attribute

Verify the connection towards the server with the nsradmin utility. To connect, run: "nsradmin -s servername".
Then run these commands within the shell:
show name
print type: NSR
This should return you the server name.

Then quit nsradmin and connect via the IP address "nsradmin -s server_ip_address". Rerun the shell commands. Of course, both commands should return the same name.

If not, do not blame NetWorker ;-)
