Hey all,

I am going to have to change my hostname to match up with my DNS name (long story thanks to our wonderful network folks giving us the wrong name). I know the easiest way in Solaris is to run sys-unconfig and change through there, but I also run Veritas applications (Volume Mgr, Netbackup, Stor. Migrator, VxFS). I had heard somewhere that I need to change the hostname in Veritas Netbackup I believe. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Also, is it just Netbackup? If this is true, what are the procedures for doing so?

NOTE: Didn't know which Forum was more well suited for this question. Therefore, this question is in Solaris Forum as well as Veritas Netbackup.

Thanks in advance,
Josh

Hi

You may neecd to change the entry in bp.conf. Also sys-unconfig wipes out defaultrouter, name server entrys in resolv.conf and defaults nsswitch.conf entry for hosts to files. My experience is that you need to restore these to the current values.

Regards
