hOSTING AN ASP WEBSITE

I am doing a website for my friend in asp, the reason it is in asp is because my friend wants to be able to upload newsletters and allow visitors to download them at there leisure.

think i have a script that will perform this task, but i keep getting errors when i have transfered the site to his server...

Do i need to obtain some special software in order to host this asp website or can i just load IIS onto the server and host it that way????????
