I have 2 companies on the same W2K network. Company A and Company B. Company A is the primary compnay and B is a sister company that shares our resources. We have accounts set up for them on our network and they Authenticate and DHCP from our server A and also use our Exchange server.

I recently upgraded their NT4 SBS to W2k running Active directory with their own domain in a new forest. They are set to log into their own domain on Server B.

Here is my problem. I would like to keep them on our Exchange server but I can't get them authenticated when they log into their own domain Server B. I have a one - way trust set in the direction of the Exchange server domain but users are not validated because they log into a different domain. I have disable NT authentication on Outlook and the users have to enter their credintails manually. Any pointers on how to get this to work?

I'm not an expert on this setup, but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get it to work with SBS involved. SBS does not support trusts between domains. It's one of the restrictions it has. It is strictly a standalone domain. It will allow other member servers to participate in it's domain but won't support trusts with other domains.
