I'm interested in using hostdump.sh (from Storage Mountain formerly Backup Central) to do my weekly server backups but am unsure as to how to carry out a restore since there is no corresponding restore script. Can anyone help me out please?

Thanks.

ufsrestore ifvs /dev/rmt/0 x
with /dev/rmt/0 changed as needed to match your tape device and x being the filesystem number from the backup that matches the filesystem you wish to restore.

That simple... and the x will also skip the tar header hostdump.sh puts at the start of the volume? For one my servers I have vxfs filesystem, will hostdump.sh pick this up and use cpio instead of ufsdump?
