OK I spent a considerable amount of time going through the previous posts regarding this and it still isn't working. Same as others, I suddenly have a few domains getting Host Unreachable. It worked yesterday. No changes to FW or DNS entries. From the gateway server, nslookup, type=mx, returns an ip. Ping said ip, no problem. About 50 messages an hour are flowing out the box, so it can't be the FW. I've tried different DNS servers, from our other carrier (2 data T's connected with BGP).
TIA for even the most random guesses.

Sorry disregard. telneting to them didn't work, now it did. Must be some worm craziness.

Have u tried doing the tracert to that particular domain for any drops in the packets.
