In our current architecture we use CTG (CICS Terminal Gateway) which runs on the web server to pass data from Visual Basic .Net application to CICS region on IBM Mainframe. We are having some problems that started happening recently. The problem is with the time outs. We want to find out if Host Integration Server can be used in place of CTG and also does it have a better compatibility with the .Net. If anyone knows about any other product other than CTG that does the same functionality like CTG, we would like to know about that.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Your CICS TCP/IP listener may is timing out.
Look for a customization parm that would effect the FCNTL sockets command.

Also The CICS TCP/IP listener is a CICS transaction and each CICS transaction has a timeout. There could be a large amount of dat coming in and the transaction timeout setting should be increased.

Look in the CICS log to determine which error it is.
