Can anyone give me the definition of "host inet"? And, if left blank, does it default to a certain ip address?

Thanks

O.K. I see that it is the IP address of the PC used for software upgrades.

yes. this ip address is only used when your first entry, boot device=motfcc. this entry is letting the system know it has to boot from the network. the "host inet" tells it which ip address on the network to connect to. if the entry is "bootdevice=ata0,0" then the system will boot from it's own harddrive

hope this helps
