I have activated a new Gigabit interface on our Networker server (Linux Suse 7.3) to increase network performance. After rebooting the machine, the host id has changed and the Networker licences are not valid anymore !!

Can anybody help me ?

How is the host id calculated on Linux machines ?

Thanks in advance

Philippe

Part of the HostID is most likely bound to the MAC address of the network adapter. you can try to change the gigabit ethernet mac to the old mac address of the other network card, this should fix the problem. I know it is possible to do this in some OS's I hope you can do it on Linux.

Worst case you need to reregister your enabler codes, call the license department and ask for a host transfer affidavate. Tell tehm you moved your server to another machine and they will generate new auth codes for you. You should be able to get new auth codes by the end of business today if not much sooner.
