Using Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 2.7 how is is possible to setup the host and host.allow file to allow ranges of IP's? They are setting up NT DHCP for some workstations and that will throw off my hosts files unless I can use wildcards or range's somehow.
Would something like 180.123.45.1-50 or
180.123.45.* work in a host file? My boots dont have any info about ranges.

Thanks for your help.

You can add netmasks:

180.123.45.0/255.255.255.128

etc.

I guess you don't have a man page for host.allow on your box, but a google search will surely turn one up. Tony Lawrence
