I have a 5224IP phone which appears to have a hosed SIP firmware load and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to wipe the existing firmware and reload from scratch. The SIP release on the phone is 6.0.0.19.

Thanks,

Dale

Dale, I'm pretty sure that if the firmware has become corrupted the phone is either a candidate for the recycling bin or you can send it to Ogdensburg and pay to have it repaired.

The message that pops up during a firmware flash upgrade that warns against interrupting power, means what it says.

I was in training in Costa Mesa about a year ago. I specifically remember them warning us about that. They said it over and over about the best way to turn your phone into a high end paper weight is to unplug it while the flash message is displayed on the screen

Got it.... I was able to force a firmware "upgrade" to rel. 5.0.0.21 and then re-upgrade back to 6.0.0.19 and it is working now.... I thought was about to have to dig up an eeprom burner and copy a rom from another phone.

Thanks,

Dale
