Horrible problem with shockwave

I foolishly updated recently to Shockwave flash10c.ocx viewer

None of my vb6 forms now work properly in the IDE, even if I erase and reload them with this new version 10c. I get a system error if I try to save any form with a shockwave 10c on it and the form log reports an error with nearly every other object on the form!

I tried going back to flash9b.ocx that I previously had but vb6 now wont let me change the filename in components.

Even though I erased all reference to 10c in the registry and removed the 10c file, it now says 'cant find flash10c' when I 'apply' the flash9b.ocx filename in components!

Does vb6 remember this component location info somewhere else as well?
Any ideas?

I removed it finally by taking 'ownership" of the ocx and deleting it and removing all references to shockwave or flash in the registry.

It still showed up as the source of ShockwaveFlash in the vb6 components list but using my Kaspersky anti virus to stop it writing back to the registry I was able to substitute the original ocx.

Rather messy!

Warning - don't use Flash10c in VB6 running XP!
(unless anyone else has a better idea)
