Hi, strange problem here.
I made a small change to my site recently and now i'm getting horizontal scrolling. If I view my site offline it's fine but when I view it from the web I get scrolling.
My best guess is that the firewall has something to do with it but when viewed from my work PC it also had the same problem.

Can someone first check the site and tell me if they see te scrolling?
Site:
Second thing, IF you see scrolling any idea what the problem might be? Both the xhtml and css validates, and nothing in the layout/CSS has changed in months.
It's wrecking my head.

It looks fine in NS7 but it scrolls in IE6. What change did you make?

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Hi tviman,

I just changed some contact information which can have no effect. I use Firefox and it's only when I checked in IE a few days ago that I noticed the probem.
I'm stumped, I have checked the code a few times, maybe I missed something, can't figure it out!
And it's fine on my home server which is wierd!

Well, here's what I would do: go through your form and place borders around all your tables AND set the width and height of all your images. Now you'll be able to see what's pushing the table beyond the edge of the screen.

One thing that might make this go a littel quicker... I noticed that you set one table to 98% in an attempt to cure the problem. Change this to something drastic - like 80% - and if the page still scrolls horizontal, then you've probably got an image that's expanding the table.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Near the end of page, check line:

Code:
<SCRIPT src="index_files/show_ads.js" type=text/javascript>

Without it there is no horizontal scrollbar (IE6).

I set the top div to 98% as a temporary fix for the top right links. I'll do what you suggested shortly, hopefully it'll show up something.

thanks, I tried that, I completely removed all the Google ads code but it didn't work, cleared the cache also but no difference unfortunatly.

I'll keep pluggin away...

Ahh... I have 1280x1024 resolution.

Btw. try the same without frameset (index.htm).

Hi vongrunt, i'm not using frames though.

I narrowed it down, the code is ok AFAIL but now I have an even more confusing problem. If you check the main index page you will see a difference betweem:

- and -

It is the same file but for some reason there is a difference when I check those 2 URL's. I have never seem this kind of problem before, any idea what might be causing it?

I think I have it sorted!

Vongrunt, you gave me the solution...Frames. I don't use frames but the sub domains SOMETIMES do. So when I set up sub-doms it must have set up frame forwarding by accident...that's my best guess anyway!

Thanks for your help guys!!
