Hi

I have built a site using dreamweaver mx and have a div tag which is a centre content area. I have set the css to overflow:auto in order to avoid horizontal scrollbars which are not required.

This is fine when the text in the content is entered using the dreamweaver design view but when the text is requested from a database both horizontal and vertical scrollbars appear.

If anyone knows why this is happening and how to get rid of the horizontal scrollbar in this instance I would be grateful.

Cheers

Cam

I have found a workaround for this which satisfies firefox and ie.

I copied the original css and applied it to the div tag which I need the text from the database in. I doubled the padding and changed the height and width of the tag accordingly so that it remained the same size overall. I added overflow-x:hidden which removed the horizontal scrollbar but retianed overflow:auto as overflow-x is not recognised by firefox.

Not ideal but it will do.
