i know , I know, But this has to be a frameset. the content area will be pulling in tons of databse information, the client does not want to loose the header and nav while scrolling so I have no choice.

My question is on a pc horizontal scroll bars show up at 8x6 even when there is no reason for them to be there unless thebrowser window is reduced from right to left.
Any ideas on how to make this not happen? Works fine on a mac.

Seems to be like a five pixel space somewhere, but there is not.

Any Ideas?

virt2002,

It appears as though your "OrlandosBestHeader_English.gif" image is too wide. Reduce the width and it should take care of the problem.

Is there a reason that you have several instances of
Code:
<p class=&quot;copy&quot;>&#38;nbsp;</p>
at the bottom of the page? These paragraphs are taking up space which is another reason why your scroll bars are visible when it seems like they shouldn't be.

Hope this helps,
-Ron

Does it have to be a nested frame set? Try using fixed widths and heights and see if that fixes your problem. It looks like to me that it is the vertical scrollbar coming on that is causing your problem.

There are javascripts you could use to accomplish the same thing in a layer or with an include without using the frame set. Try
Good luck,

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

The p tags were just there to make it scroll so i could test. I tried reducing the image size before i posted this and that does not resolve the problem.

And undrstand guys I do want he vertical scroll as there will be some content on that page that is not visible at this time.

I just can't for the life of me understand where the horizontal scroll is coming from.

I don't have an answer for you (yet). BUT, are you sitting down? You really should sit down for this. Are you ready for this? This is a REAL shocker! It's a problem with IE only!

I know what you're saying...&quot;how could that be, that never happens&quot;, or &quot;that's not possible, you must just be a microsoft hater&quot;. Sorry folks. It's really true. I checked the page using Opera AND Mozilla. It works fine in BOTH <gasp>!

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention that piece of information, just in case it will help someone else in solving this problem.

Sometimes it's the simple things...

In fact, usually it's the simple things...

Good job.
