Hi,

was wondering if anyone had a solution for this. Have a user running a Dell Optio GX200 /w integrated video (Riva TNT2). Display is a NEC Multisync LCD 1550M.

User never had problems before, and system just started doing this. Monitor displays horizontal dark lines at the top and bottom of windows (i.e. say control panel is taking up 1/3 of screen... there will be extensions of the top and bottom of the control panel box running across the screen. LCD works fine on other systems. Updated monitor driver is unavailable at Dells site. Refresh rate cannot be changed either for some reason.

Any suggestions?

If you cannot change the refresh rate then Video drivers have gone bad.
Re-installing them might sort it out.

Sometimes it is tricky finding drivers at Dell's site, so try You can logon anonomously with username: drivers, password: all. Find drivers for your onboard video, completely remove your current drivers through the add/remove progs control panel or through the device manager in the system control panel. Then install the downloaded drivers. Good luck!
