* Horizontal Lines on Screen * ! HELP !

When my computer first starts up there are a few horizontal flickering lines on my screen. When i use my computer more the number of lines increases. It gets so bad that i can barley see anything and my monitor starts reseting because the lines are so intense.

has anyone heard of this kind of problem???

I have updated all drivers, tried changing the monitor's refresh rate, added fans, i have no idea what the problem is.

My video card is a Hurcules 3D Prophet 4500, 64mb.
Monitor is a KDS Visual Sensation.

Please give any ideas that you have.

how old is the monitor. Sounds like she's on her last legs. Probably a monitor problem not a computer problem. Otherwise check the card out. might be overheating or just not making a good connection.
