Using Pagemaker 6.5plus and WinXP when printing certain objects in the documents have horizontal lines in the areas that are masked with rounded corners in the areas of the rounded corners. Does not happen to all objects and removing mask takes away the problem. Documents use to print fine on old win 98 machine.

PM6.5 is not certified for XP, nor is it supported, Upgrading to PM7.0 may solve your problem, however I have been hearing about tons of conflicts and problems with all applications on XP.

You may want to back up data and format your HD then do a cleaninstall of XP. If you upgraded, that is usually a bad idea with any windows OS as they upgrade very poorly and clean installs (if you have an upgrade version, then a clean install on a new partition) are always the way to go.

If you bought the machine new, then a clean install is always recommended, as most larger distributors install the OS usintg a process known as ghosting, which can sometimes give an inferior image.

Hope this points you in the right direction. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Machine was new with XP op system. In program system properties you can run XP as compatible with win 98 to avoid support issue. Solution found this morning was printing graphic as vector switching to raster seemed to correct issue. Thank you for your response.

Glad you figured it out.. yep, it is best to use TIFF or EPS formats for graphics in PM, and use the PM "place" command rather than copy/paste for best results!

cheers! When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
