I have a customer who is asking me for a few simple things for thier AA to perform. THey are using a CX running 9.0 UR2 with Embedded messaging. Can the Auto Attendant be set to repeat for a certain number of times? and if no digits are dialed can the AA automatically forward the call to a destination when no digits are dialed?

Not both at the same time.

Menu nodes will repeat their greetings but they do not give access to Dial by Name or Dial an Extension.

The standard AA will transfer to zero after greeting but not repeat.

There is no repeat function built into the system. I usually fool it with a single digit that points back to the main Pilot DN of the VM and then have the system greeting mention this digit as a repeat option.

If there are no digit dialed during the system greeting, the call will go to the operator mailbox. You can set the DN within this mailbox to go to what ever destination you want.

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

cknipe, If you use that method make sure the single digit mailbox starts with a digit that is unique from all other mailboxes. Otherwise the system will wait for 3 seconds before taking action.

Paterson, Menu Nodes repeat their greetings. Useful to know sometimes.

I think it is possible

Make a agent skill group
Set "Queue callers to group when no local agents are logged in"
Make an ACD path and put in a RAD greeting with the AA greeting
Make an interflow dialing list

The rad greeting can be put in at recording 1,2,3 and 4
I am not sure if you can set another DN to send it to the receptionist

I never tried this so you are the lucky one to do it :)

tlpeter, your solution works up to a point but don't forget that the Embedded mail has Dial by Name and Dial an Extension features. Neither are possible with your solution.

Paterson's solution retains all of the abilities with the sole concession being that the calling has to dial a digit to repeat the message. KISS principle applies.

I never used the dial by name or dial extension part of the embedded vm :)

And to be honest i never understood the "normal way"

another really easy way to do it is simply repeat the greeting three times when you record it. is a bit irritating if you want to change it often, but will give you your desired functionality.

RossBC, Your solution does not address the question of what happens if the customer does nothing.

Paterson still gets the nod. (thus the star)

I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about the main greeting which defaults to the operator box if nothing is dialed.

I think RossBC has the best suggestion here. im getting ready to implement this and im testing it a little more. The MLAA's repeat twice and then xfer to the operator already. Does anyone know the location of the main AA primary greetings on the system. I think what I will try to do is just ftp the file to my pc and use an audio app to repeat the audio 2x.

actually nevermind. i found it.

in case anyone needs to know the primary greeting is located at

/vmail/c/vm/prompt/english filename=PDAY.vox

I used a free app called Acarda Vox converter to convert the vox file to wav. Then used a free wav editor called audacity to loop the wav 3 times with 5 seconds of silence in between. Once done with that I used acarda to convert the file from wav back to vox and then ftp'd the file back in. Works like a champ now.

Thanks for all the suggestions
