Hey guys, I have a question for you. I was reading on making patch cables and came accross a statement about using a crossover cable to connect two hubs together. Is this true? Is it the same for routers and switches? Thanks.

Yes.

You only need to make a crossover cable if you don't have an uplink port. You can even use a crossover cable to connect two pcs, w/o a switch/hub in the middle.
