Ok... I may be a moron, but I think I'm just so used to doing IP Offices... I've never done this with a Partner.

I have a customer with Tapit and I need to do a run from the Partner to the customer's COM port.

I've got a 355A in stock. Because I don't have a 355AF, I've got a gender changer and that's plugged into a serial port via a serial cable. Shouldn't be an issue, right?

So to go from the RJ45 jack on the 355A, do I use a rolled cable or a straight through cable? I tried both with no love.

Also, I noticed the default port settings in Tapit are completely different then the default port settings on the PC. I changed the port settings in Tapit to correspond with the PC. Should it be the other way around? What should the port settings be?

Hi jonnyGURU,
Straight through cable. Don't know about the program. The com port settings would be 1200 8N1. Mine is running on Hyperterminal to a PC

Cool! I'll try that in the morning. :)

I tried the straight up 568B cable, but no love. Must be the port settings. Don't think the program really matters, so if you've got yours working with Hyper.... I think it's going to be the SMDR port on the Partner that dictates the settings since the software can be used for a Bazillion different systems. :D

Ok... I'm now no longer getting the "Can not connect" error, but I'm not moving any data. Reports won't run. Says there's no data available. SMDR Monitor32 is running.

on the last tapit i worked on ,i had to change to 7 N 1 to start the data flowing in their program ,which was weird because i've always done 8 N 1 for any AT&T switch & what i had use from my laptop to test
