Hi
I'm having a few problems with a users XP SP2 workstation & the homeshare / homepath variables not resolving correctly. I can find a few similar issues mentioned elsewhere on the internet but nothing exactly the same & nothing that solves the problem.
In the AD the user's home folder is set to \\server1\USERDATA$\user1 but when he logs on his homepath gets set to \Documents and Settings\user1 (where it should be \) & his homeshare to \\server1\USERDATA$ (where it should be the same as the home folder)
This is causing problems when he's working offline in that he can't syncronise files as they are being kept to be placed in the wrong directory when he returns online.
When his home directory was set up, initially a mistake had been made, it wasn't creasted & had to be done manually later after he's already logged in - could this be anything to do with the issue? Where can I edit things either in the AD or on the client to put things right? The "Volatile Environment" variables where this is stored in the registry after logon are not saved if amended, likewise setting user variables under system properties doesn't seem to work
TIA
Steve
