I once had to serve webpages from my home computer using XP (I know this is limited but I was just experimenting). I now need to do this again and have set up the internet network connection as a http server, however, I now have a wireless router so that when I type in my ip address in a browser, for example (not my actual ip), it goes to the wireless router admin and not to the folder on my computer.

Any attempts to simply bypass this, for example lead to a 404 not found page.

Any help on this would be greatfully received.

Have you forwarded the relevant port on the router to you XP machine?
A bit more info about your setup would help to narrow the problem down.

I'm assuming you are typing the IP address that your ISP has given you here. This will get the admin page of your router if your router is setup for remote admin.

You would be as well to sign up with someone like dydns if you don't get a static IP address from your ISP. Post back with a bit more network setup info and we should get this one solved.

Thanks for the reply, I just needed to forward the port on my router, it now works fine.

No worries... pleased it was something simple. [smile]
