is anyone aware of an isp that will allow the use of home web servers?

i created an e-store for a friend and my isp told me that i'm not allowed to use it.

Never heard of that. Lets assume you have broadband. Thats a constant connection to the internet. If you want to run a server at home, then thats your business, not your ISPs ...
