Just installed a wireless-N Linksys broadband router (WRT310N). I have a laptop (Vista) connected via wireless and a desktop (XP) connected via Cat5. I want use my desktop as a server
and have my laptop access some of the files.

Problem is I can see both computers on my network and both can access the internet but I cannot access the desktop PC via my laptop.

I rt clicked on drive cof my desktop then went to share, gave it a share folder name and I still can't access it. Get error code 0x80070005 Access Denied.

Did you follow all the steps in the linked article?

yes. It works if i network two vista pcs but not vista-xp.

So the share is correctly set on the xp machine. No errors were reporeted when actually creating the share. The error code that you posted when trying to access that share is rather unusual to be associated with windows file sharing.

Is there any third part firewall installed on the xp machine?
