HOME NETWORKING " router connects Browse NOT "

I recently setup home networking w/linksy BEFSR41 V.2 using
DSL service from local TELCO. I can access the Internet
via the Router " NO PROBLEM " , Shared drives " NO PROBLEM"

HOWEVER I CANNOT BROWSE OR SEARCH WHILE ON AOL. BUT I CAN ACCESS AOL EMAIL OK.....

ABIT OF A AN NOVICE BUT CAN LEARN QUICKLY......

CAN SOMEONE HELP PLEASE...............

when you set up internet explorer check the auto detect proxy box. right click ie icon, select properties at the very bottom then connections then lan and make sure auto detect is checked.if they does not work try aol keyword proxy server

Are you trying to use aol browsers while on your dsl? or are you trying to use aol dial up service separately from your dsl...this will make a difference in the settings aspect...

if you are trying to use aol browser to browse while on dsl...your aol must be configured to use tcpip...

if you are on dialup...and can't browse...then you definately want to have a look at your internet options *ducks and hides* "don't shoot me i'm only the messenger!"

Since you've got DSL through another provider, you don't need AOL, get rid of it. You already have a provider, email support through the TELCO and none of the headaches and privacy issues of AOL. I think dslqueen is probably on the money and you need to change the AOL browser settings. Change the AOL access method to ISP/LAN. You can also change the billing plan to "Bring your own access" which is cheaper if you want to keep AOL.

If you are trying to use AOL dial-up, it is redundant but should still work. You may need to visit the AOL support resources and look for topics relating to "browsing while connected via TCP/IP".
