I have seen plenty of home lab scenarios using 3 or more Cisco routers.... but I'm looking for some scenarios using ONLY 2 routers and NO switches. Does anyone have some specific web sites to look for these types of Home Lab setups?

Any help is much appreciated.

theceege,

See my post -

"2 FREE CCNA Lab Manuals - PDF download"

These 2 FREE lab books have lots of 1, 2 and 3 router labs so you will have lots to do with 2 routers.

Most of the router labs are in book 2 - each book is about 350 pages long (PDF file).

It helps to have at least 1 switch or hub - I have gotten 2 Cisco Fast 400 hubs for less then $10 on Ebay in the last 2 months.

Most of my students have setup a lab like this at home (and when I say cheap PCs you can get old P2 Dells or Gateways for $30 each on Ebay, or if you "dumpster dive" or "garage sale" you can get them cheaper) -

cheap PC --- hub -- router --- router --- hub --- PC

This lets you try lots of networking end to end. Do not worry about old Cisco hubs - they are just connection points, they can be replaced with a 2950 switch and VLANs when you have the $$$$.

As you move further install IPCop (FREE hardware firewall on an old PC and start working with general security concepts.

I hope this helps!!
