Can anyone help me?, I am trying to set up a lab to help me get through my CCNA, I have bought a 2503 with ios 12.1.
I now realise I could really do with another router, Is there any way I can simulate a wan link via a modem or isdn terminal adapter. I.E If I have 2 lans, The router is on lan A, lan B has a pc with a terminal adapter can I connect to this using the BRI port? or failing this could I have a similar setup using the AUX port with a modem attached.

I have seen some docs on how to setup DDR using the AUX port but have not heard it done successfully (I don't have the docs). And using your BRI port is not going to be an option. I looked into doing these things for my CCNA and found that reading as many docs and books as I could find was enough. You will need more equipment and more money to simulate that stuff.

For the BRI port you would need to have another router and an ISDN simulator. If you wanted to practice using frame-relay you could get two more 2500 routers turn one router into a frame-relay switch and set the oter two up tp use the switch. Would suggest a 2520 for the switch it has four serial ports.

Ok Thanks for the Tips, Confirmed what I thought, I will have to buy another router and I will probably just connect them back to back through the serial ports
